Professional Background
Gina Benedict is the Founder and Principal Consultant of HR Solutions which she started in 2013. She started her career working in Sales and Marketing for two large public companies that provided her extensive leadership training and introduced her to recruiting over 25 years ago. It was through recruiting that she found a niche in HR. Through the last 20 years, she spent several years as a corporate recruiter for a consulting company and then several years in a manufacturing / corporate environment learning the HR Generalist role from a seasoned HR expert. From there she became a HR Manager and then a HR Director which exposed her to the managerial side of Human Resources and managing people. In 2013, her husband took a new role on the East Coast – specifically the Syracuse, New York area. At that time, a mentor encouraged her to start a consulting practice. Gina has worked in and consulted in many industries including: Insurance, Consumer Products, Medical Devices, Private Medical Practices, Advertising/Public Relations, Environmental Consulting, Pharmaceuticals-OTC, Capital Equipment, Food Manufacturing, Commercial Real Estate, Construction, and non-profit organizations. She has worked with companies based in New York, California, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Oklahoma, Maryland, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Utah and Washington. She is familiar with the legal compliance requirements across many states. She also has supported business offices based in Great Britain, Germany and India.
Education
In 2012, she attained the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation from the HR Institute. In 2015, she attained the Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional designation (SHRM-CP). She completed the Global Professional Human Resource Training Certification Course through SHRM in 2016-2017. She attained SHRM Recertification Provider/Trainer status in 2019 and can issue re-certification credits to SHRM designation holders for trainings. Lastly, Gina is a graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. She has a BA in Communications/Telecommunications/Media.
Other
Gina is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. She is married to Matt. They have two teenage children, Ava and Will. They have a golden retriever dog and a cat. In addition to work stories, she usually includes stories around her family and specifically miscommunication. Gina has volunteered to support many local organizations, including the Girl Scouts, libraries, churches, and various non-profits.
Public Speaking Engagements/Seminars
Gina discover the leadership of management guru Dr. W Edwards Deming in 2014. In 2016, Gina started presenting and facilitating at 2.5 day seminars on the Deming Leadership Philosophy. These are conducted in person and virtually. She has presented seminars at locations all over the US at private company events, industry conferences and universities, including Cornell University. She speaks on Deming, professional development, collaboration, and human resources related topics at:
